Privacy Policy for Recipes Darleen
Effective as of Mars 23, 2024
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Welcome to Recipes Darleen (https://recipesdarleen.com). We respect your privacy, and we want to be clear about how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our site. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can manage your preferences.
If you ever have questions or need clarity, reach out to us at contact@recipesdarleen.com .
Information We Collect
We collect both personal and non-personal information to improve your experience and keep our site running smoothly.
This may include:
- Name and email address (if you subscribe or contact us), and the email address you enter if you use Email This Recipe
- Data about how you use our website (pages viewed, time spent, clicks)
- Cookies and similar technologies that remember preferences and measure performance
- Device information such as browser type, operating system, and IP address
How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Improve our website, recipes, and user experience
- Respond to messages, inquiries, or feedback
- Send you a recipe you asked us to email (see Email This Recipe below)
- Send occasional newsletters (if you opt-in — unsubscribe anytime)
- Prevent fraud, spam, or misuse of our services
- Show advertising and measure its delivery, through our advertising provider HBAgency (see Advertising below)
We never sell your personal data to third parties.
Email This Recipe
Recipe pages may offer an “Email This Recipe” button. If you use it, you enter an email address and we send that one recipe to it. We use the address only to send that recipe email.
- Sending a recipe does not sign you up for anything. Unless you also tick the optional box described below, we do not add the address to any mailing list and do not use it for marketing.
- Related recipes for subscribers only. If the address already belongs to a confirmed newsletter subscriber, the recipe email may also include up to three related Recipesdarleen recipes. To decide this, our email service checks the address against our newsletter list at Brevo; nothing from that check is stored, and the answer is never shown on the website. Ticking the newsletter box is not enough on its own: related recipes appear only after the subscription has been confirmed.
- Optional newsletter, with double opt-in. The form has a separate box, unticked by default: “Yes, send me new recipes and updates.” Only if you tick it do we ask our email provider to send you a confirmation email. You are subscribed only after you click the confirmation link in that email; if you do not confirm, you are not subscribed.
- Who processes it. Emails are sent for us by our email service provider, Brevo (brevo.com). Your request is received by our email service at api.recipesdarleen.com, which runs on Cloudflare Workers.
What is kept, and for how long. Our email service does not store your email address. To prevent abuse, it counts requests using one-way keyed codes (hashes) made from your IP address and from the recipient address, never the address itself, and deletes those counts automatically after one hour (per visitor) and 24 hours (per recipient address). Brevo keeps records of the emails it sends for us, such as whether an email was delivered, opened or clicked, under its own retention settings. If you confirm a newsletter subscription, Brevo keeps your email address on our newsletter list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Unsubscribing. You can unsubscribe from newsletter emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email, or by writing to us at contact@recipesdarleen.com. The rights described under Your Rights below also apply to this data.
Pinterest Publishing
We publish our own recipe Pins to the Recipes Darleen Pinterest business account using a private publishing tool that we operate ourselves (“the publisher”). It connects to Pinterest through Pinterest’s official API and Pinterest’s own sign-in (OAuth). It is used only by us, and it does not collect any information about visitors to this website.
- Which account. Only our own Pinterest business account, connected by us on Pinterest’s sign-in page. Before the live connection is saved, and again before every Pin is published, the publisher checks that it belongs to our account (username and website; for the live connection also the account type).
- Sign-in credentials. Pinterest gives the publisher an access token and a refresh token. They are stored encrypted on our own hosting, separately for our test and live connections, and are used only to keep the connection working and to publish our Pins. They are not displayed in the publisher or written to its logs. The connection renews itself automatically.
- What is read from Pinterest, and for how long. When it needs to, the publisher reads our account’s identity, our list of boards (including each board’s name, owner and whether it is shared), and the Pins on our boards, so it can confirm it is using the right account and board and that a published Pin matches exactly what we approved. This information is used for that check and then discarded. We do not keep Pinterest account, board or Pin identifiers, board lists, or Pinterest’s responses.
- What we keep. Our own content and settings: the Pins we write (title, description, alt text, link to our recipe and image), the names we give our boards, our approval and schedule for each Pin, and a publishing record (when a Pin was sent and whether it was confirmed). Operational activity logs are deleted after 30 days.
- We choose every Pin. Each Pin is reviewed and approved by us individually before it can be published. Importing content does not approve it, and a Pin that changes after approval must be approved again. Approved Pins may be published automatically at the time we schedule them.
- Sharing. We do not sell or share information obtained from Pinterest with anyone.
- Removing access. Access can be removed at any time in the Pinterest account’s settings, and we can disconnect the publisher ourselves, which deletes the stored credentials. Once access is removed or no longer valid, nothing more is published until the account is connected again.
